On this morning’s Today show, Jessica Simpson appeared via satellite from Kuwait, where she is performing the Operation MySpace concert for the troops.

“I haven’t really gotten a lot of sleep!” the singer, 27, admitted.

With a group of U.S. soldiers surrounding her in the background, she added, “I’m enjoying all the troops and just having a blast!”

I know it is early and I usually don’t make sense until noon or so, but I just think it is kind of ironic and maybe in bad taste to use the phrase “having a blast” when surrounded by people who probably don’t think any kind of blast is a good thing.
